Bristol Best Spray Tan Facts and Questions

You may have a few questions about your spray tan.
We have answered the questions that you may ask.
If we’ve missed anything out, then don’t hesitate to ask.

Absolutely not! Both products are perfectly balanced and the way we apply your spray tan will give you a natural looking tan.

There are two main ingredients that make up St Tropez tanning solution:

Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) – it is colourless sugar which will interact with the natural occurring amino acid on the surface of the skin which produces a temporary colour change- your tan!

Erythrulose – this is naturally moisturising ingredient which is taken from raspberries. It works in a similar way as DHA but develops slower.

We all want to feel good and a nice soft spray tan can really illuminate your skin and features. Both spray tan solutions have moisturiser agents within them which makes your skin glow. There is no damage to the skin, which helps you with keeping your skin young and illuminated.

It will take around 15 mins to set up everything and prepare your skin and then another 15 minutes for spraying. So, after 30 minutes you will instantly have a nice glow to your skin and feel good. No long sunbathing sessions and no damage to your skin.

Please leave to developed for the full development time of 4- 8 hours or overnight. Exceptions for Express Mist.

Okay, so it is a miss conception that it is the tan that smells. This is a chemical reaction on the skin. However, St Tropez is different they have developed something called Aromaguar this replaces the typical self tan aroma and replaces it with a light and fresh scent.

The tent is one meter diameter this is all that takes up room. We also need a socket close by. We bring an extension cable but we will always need access to electricity.

It depends on your skin, how you look after your tan and how dark you go. Light to medium 3-5 days and darker tans 5-7 days. Please check out my aftercare tips here.

No, it will not! Please ensure you are using sunscreen to ensure you do not cause any damage to your skin while you are out in the sun.

We recommend a patch test. We can do these for free if you have booked your appointment.

Yes you can as long its not open and broken skin. We need to do a patch test 24 hours before and we will have to ensure all the dryer areas are appropriately moisturised. If you do have broken skin and open wounds we may not be able to continue with the treatment.

Yes! Spray tans can reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars.

The Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association has confirmed that spray tans are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (lactating mothers may choose to avoid the breast area during the breast feeding stage). We do advice to have a patch test 24 hours before as sometimes allergic reactions can be caused.

All of the products are Paraben free.

No, there are no toxic ingredients in either of these products.

St Tropez yes however Bondi Sands contains some animal product.

Step 1 – We will come to you. A tent is quickly and swiftly set up in which the tan takes place (please make sure you got some space for us to set it up). We will have a quick chat with you to determine colour you wish to achieve and go through a consultation form where you must sign a consent form.

Step 2 – Once we are both happy with everything, we start the tanning, for this you will get undressed. Now, it is totally your decision of what you want to wear. We supply you with paper pants, sticky feet and a hair net – glamorous right? Most people go topless but some don’t, this is totally optional. Some even wear their own underwear which is fine as well. It is up to you! Barrier cream is then applied to certain areas to protect your skin and nails. The spray will then take around 15 minutes.

Step 3 – We then clean your hands, feet and nails to in sure there isn’t any back spray on these areas. You will have time to dry off for a few minutes and we will clean and pack our stuff up. And Va Va Voom – you’re done!

Make sure you wear dark loose clothing for after your treatment. Sometimes the guide colour can transfer to your clothes and even though the tanning solution is a water based product (meaning it can washed and the stains will come out), we would want you wearing your favourite white top with brown marks on it. It will also stop you from rubbing of the tan when you get dressed again, otherwise it may result, yes you got it in an uneven tan!
